Past Story: Apache came to me from a couple who purchased their first horse. They only had him several weeks and chose to sell due to feeling very nervous around him.
Present Story: He has been with me for about two weeks, his advertisement said 15.1 hand QH & I chose to just go get him without realizing he was gaited (I am personally not too familiar with gaited horses). I was looking to find something I could work with and find a good home. He needs to trust the human and is a bit nervous when you approach however not a mean bone in his body. He has been a gentlemen, settled in quicker than I thought so I decided to advertise him. He doesn’t have a lot of fancy buttons, a cute goofy personality & I believe he just packed riders down the trail. Working well in the arena on just a snaffle bit, slow walk, gaits out when asked.
Not always easy to catch but not pushy (not in my pocket yet but on his way)
Leads, loads & stands perfectly
Cross Ties & Ties to Trailer quietly (doesn’t move a foot)
Barefoot, picks all feet up easily for cleaning
Great ground manners
Loves to be groomed and bathed
Zero tacking or cinching issues
Fly spray and Fly mask no issues
Direct rein not neck rein (although I am sure he could learn)
Very responsive (still trying to figure out his buttons)
There is a lot of potential here if someone is willing to be patient with him, he needs consistency. I really believe he will make a great partner. Good homes only will be considered with horse experience. Contact only thru phone calls to discuss as I will not respond to Text. Thank you.
