In the months of September through May, there will be guided hikes hosted by David Rakes on the third Saturday of each month! On these information hikes you have the chance to learn about the flora and fauna of North Central Florida. Each hike will start at a different trail head, and each hike will have a focus of a type of plant. Along with learning about these awesome plants, you will also have the chance to see some natural Florida Wildlife such as the Florida white-tailed deer, Sherman’s fox squirrel, Eastern gopher tortoises, and so much more!
The next hike will be on March 17th, the focus of the hike will be trees, more specifically how many different types of trees you are able to count and see on the Sink Hole Trail. Meet at the Sink Hold Trail Head at 8:00am , and regular park admission are the only fees. We hope to see you there for some fun hiking through some of Florida’s most amazing hiking trails in the state!
