The Addams Family: A New Musical

Showtimes are from May 16 – June 9

Book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice
Music and Lyrics by Andrew Lippa

Show dates: MAY 16 – JUNE 9, 2019
The iconic TV show comes to life in a marvelously morbid musical! Wednesday Addams is all grown up and in love with an ordinary young man from Ohio. On a dark and stormy night, the future in-laws arrive at the macabre mansion to meet the “creepy and the kooky, mysterious and spooky” Addams Family: Morticia and Gomez, Pugsley, Uncle Fester, Lurch, and Grandma. Meeting the parents has never been so terrifying… especially when the spirits of the Addams ancestors in the graveyard rise to the occasion. This 2010 Broadway hit is delightfully dark, frightfully funny, and a gleefully Gothic good time!

Hilton Garden Inn will be built just off the square. A ground breaking ceremony was held in downtown just last month to celebrate the new Ocala hotel.

The building will be five-story, 107-room. The hotel will shed new light this part of town and construction is estimated to take about 15 to 18 months.

“The Foreigner” at the Ocala Civic Theatre

Location  4337 E Silver Springs Blvd
Story
In this Southern-fried comedy, two Englishmen, Froggy and Charlie, arrive for what should be a peaceful weekend at a fishing lodge in rural Georgia. Poor Charlie, depressed and painfully shy, is terrified of talking to strangers – so the well-meaning Froggy tells everyone that Charlie is a foreigner from an exotic country and doesn’t know a word of English. But when Charlie overhears some scandalous news, as well as the sinister plans of a couple of rednecks who aren’t the model citizens they seem to be, does he confess or keep up the charade? Hilarious in any language, laughter needs no translation in this wildly funny farce!
